Hair Makeovers by Gia Wood, Hair Extension Artist in Dallas Texas
Use of hair extensions to add thickness as well as length.

Dreux has always had fine thin hair and in her mid thirties decided to get hair extensions to enhance the thickness of her own hair as well as to add some length.

The extensions she had put in by the first stylist she found were too thin and stringy for the hairstyle Dreux was trying to achieve. This stylist also did not blend the hair cut very well on her extensions, and you can see this in the before photo.

The original stylist, who is well known in the Dallas area, only used around 100 extension strands to lengthen Dreux's hair from shoulder length to 18 inches. “Shortly after she had her first set of hair extensions applied Dreux came to me for help, and it was obvious she was unhappy with her hair.

Even though the stylist put them in by the book, he did not apply enough hair extensions to blend the layer gap the extensions created when applied to her hair.

The stylist also did not cut any layers in to the back of Dreux’s hair, which made that layer gap even more obvious and Dreux more self conscious about her appearance.”

Before and after photos of Dreux, above, show the dramatic transformation as just the right amount of extensions were attached to Dreux's thin hair.  With hair extensions her hair is full of volume and looks glamorous.

Dreux's Comments:

The first stylist I went to just didn’t understand what I wanted. I went back to him 2 or 3 times to get more extensions added, but after he added maybe 30 extensions, which hardly did anything to the overall look of my extensions, he didn’t even blend the additional extensions into what he had originally put in."  Dreux

When I went to see Gia she knew exactly what I wanted. She too wears extensions that are the same length as what I wear and are very thick like I wanted my own extensions to look like.

It was like Gia was the hair model of what I wanted all along. Gia explained to me that even though the extensions were thin and unblended, they had been applied correctly, and because of this she could repair them by adding more extensions and doing a more layered haircut, while still using the original extensions.

I loved this because I was so unhappy with the first extensions, I thought we might have to remove all of the extensions from the first set and start from scratch. Because Gia was able to do this it saved me about $1600, something anyone could appreciate.

The last thing I wanted to do was get a bad hair style and then spend double fixing it. Today, I have been a client of Gia’s for over 5 years and I have never been happier with my appearance. I will be a client of Gia’s for life!”
